How much difference will it make?
This does depend on your home and what insulation it currently has. If you have no insulation, choose the right product and install it correctly it will have a huge impact on your home. If your house is cold and/or damp and your heating bill is high you need it!

How dose insulation work?
Quite simply insulation works to keep the outside temperature out and the inside temperature in! Think of it like a chilly bin or vacuum flask, if you put hot food in it stays warm and if you put cold food in it stays cold. It works to stop/slow temperature transfer. The better the grade or type of product you use the less temperature transfer there is so the better it works. Insulation does not create any energy of its own.
Are the products safe?
Yes. Fibreglass products are very safe. Dust masks, overalls and gloves should be used when installing fibreglass products. Most Fibreglass products are bio-soluble so if you inhale the fibres they quickly break down in your system.
The main danger with insulation comes when installing so take good care when doing so.
What product is right for my home?
Every home is different. Choosing the right product for each application is important especially for under floor applications where conditions tend to be harsher and symptoms more severe. That said, quite often it comes down to personal preference and budget.
Have a browse through the online brochures, read through the product matrix which will give you an idea of the advantages and disadvantages of each.
In general put as high a grade of insulation as possible. The payback will come with a comfortable home and energy savings!
